How Does The Pax 3 Vaporizer Work?

The Pax 3 vaporizers sleek four-inch housing consists of the battery and a small conduction oven. Your cannabis goes in the bottom where the oven is, which can be accessed by pushing in one side of the small magnetic cover and popping it off. There’s an easy-to-use single button on the mouthpiece that turns the device on and off. This button can also be used for cycling through the four temperature pre-sets.

Pressing the button once will turn the LED display purple which means it’s warming the cannabis. It will turn green once it’s ready to be hit. The delicious vapor can then be enjoyed by inhaling through the removable mouthpiece. The device can be turned off by holding the mouthpiece button for about five seconds or so.

Vaporizing Your Product(s) With The Pax 3

Even though the Pax 3 fits perfectly in your hand, it has a lot to offer. It’s simple, it’s easy to use, complex and smart. Unlike some vaporizers available, you can easily switch between using the device for dried herbs or for concentrates like wax, shatter, or budder. This can be done by simply with an insert that you can put into the oven or removing it for vaping dry herbs

Keep in mind, the insert for vaping concentrates only comes with the complete kit and not the device-only option.

Pack It

The cannabis flower can be packed into the appropriate oven, with the device upside down. The stainless steel oven will then use conduction to heat your product. Releasing the vapor which is drawn into the air path of the device when you gently inhale. This ensures optimal heating of the cannabis and keeps the vapor within the device, so you don’t waste any. The concentrate insert works the same way. With the concentrate or extract going into the metal chamber on the end. Just make sure to put the magnetic cap back on the chamber, before sliding it into the (non-removable) Standard Oven.

Turning It On & Temperature

The single-button control works just like any other but is located in an odd spot.

1. Turn on the Pax 3, by pressing down on the top of the mouthpiece.
2. Once on, the LED light indicator on the front will light up purple and blink, indicating it’s heating up, and green when ready to hit.
3. Cycling through the temperature presets is as simple as holding down the power button for about two seconds to enter the mode. The four-dot LED light will show either one, two, three or four lights illuminated to indicate the temperature. One dot being the lowest temp and four dots the highest. Green is for low heat. Yellow is for medium-low heat. Orange is for medium-high heat and red is high heat.

Taking A Hit

• When you’re ready to take a hit, just press the power button to illuminate the light purple.
• It will blink until ready to hit indicated by the light now being green.

Inhaling through the mouthpiece simply draws the vapor out of the air path that leads to the bowl that contains your vaporizing dry herb or concentrate. We like that the Pax 3 maintains whichever temperature setting you choose, the whole time.

Charging The Pax 3

Charging it is really easy with the magnetic charging cradle. Just set the Pax in the cradle and the LED lights will light up and start pulsing, letting you know it’s working. As it’s charging, the LED light indicator will let you know how much charge it has, by how many petals are lit on the indicator light. Each petal represents 25% battery charge and the 3500 mAH battery charges in approximately ninety minutes. Providing around eight through ten sessions of use per charge.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The Pax 3 is one of the easiest vaporizers to clean that we’ve tried. The removable metal lids and oven chambers can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and then wiped dry. The standard oven inside and the air path should be cleaned with the pipe cleaners provided in the complete kit. The small, removable metal screens that sit on the bottom of the oven; can also be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol, but should be replaced occasionally for optimal functionality. Keep in mind, the device only also comes with cleaning products right out the box.

Finding The Perfect Temperature

The temperature you use to vaporize your cannabis greatly impacts the flavor and amount of cloud that is produced, as well as the quality of your hits. Generally speaking; lower temperatures tend to improve taste and provide a more efficient rate of vaporizing. While higher temperatures can lead to a more bitter taste and will burn through your product faster. Thankfully, adjusting the temperature of the Pax 3 can be done in a couple ways.

• You can either choose from the temperature presets directly on the device.
• Or you can download the app to access presets and have the freedom of setting the temperature yourself.

As mentioned previously; pressing down on the top of the mouthpiece and holding for a couple of seconds (while the device is turned on) will cycle through the preprogrammed temperature settings.

• one green petal: indicates the lowest temperature setting of 360F
• two yellow petals: indicates the medium-low temperature setting of 380F
• three orange petals: indicates the medium-high temperature setting of 400F
• four red petals: indicates the highest temperature setting of 420F

However, the Pax 3 mobile app provides you with more control over the heating and use of your device with it’s preset dynamic modes.

• Standard Mode: this mode uses lip sensing technology to detect when your lips are touching the device. Increasing the temperature when you’re using it, and auto-cooling for 20 seconds when it senses that your lips aren’t touching the device.
• Boost Mode: is designed to produce more vapor in every temperature setting.
• Efficiency Mode: is programmed for a more consistent vapor production. This mode will gradullay increase the oven temperature by 1 degree, every 2 seconds as you use it.
• Flavor Mode: obviously designed to maximize flavor and vapor production, by heating and cooling quickly within the temperature setting you’ve chosen.
• Stealth Mode: similar to a battery saving mode. This setting will maintain a lower temperature, has a faster cool-down, with a lower LED light output and the device will go into a standby mode after 15 seconds without use.

How Smart Is The Pax 3?

The Pax 3 is smart and we don’t just mean it looks smart. This pocket-sized vaporizer is packed with programming to make it seem to think, so you don’t have to (as much).
